For the first time in more than eight years, the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference 2023 has brought together the maternal newborn health community in Cape Town, South Africa. More than 1,600 stakeholders from over 95 countries have come together to accelerate solutions to improve maternal and newborn survival and prevent stillbirths as we strive to achieve the ambitious targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.
Opening Plenary at 08:00 SAST
Plenary 2 - Exemplars of Country Success in Improving Maternal and Newborn Survival at 09:30 SAST. This will highlight countries that have achieved significant and measurable progress in maternal newborn health with comparable investments to other countries. It will feature what factors led them to this success and what other countries might adapt.
Plenary 3 - The Road to 90/90/80/80 for Maternal and Newborn Health: Progress and Gaps at Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Midpoint at 14:50 SAST. This will launch the highly anticipated joint progress report for the Every Newborn Action Plan and Ending Preventing Maternal Mortality. This report will highlight progress in achieving maternal and newborn health targets, including countries that are on track, targets for the future, and what has worked for focus countries.* All plenaries will be in Auditorium 1
The Country Showcase will happen from 16:10-17:10 SAST in the East/West Ballroom. Our 28 official country delegations will share learnings, innovations, and best practices.

Plenary livestreams
IMNHC 2023 livestreams will begin today with the opening plenary at 8:00 SAST. All seven of our plenary sessions will be livestreamed in four languages (English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese). You do not need to be registered as an attendee to view these livestream sessions. LEARN MORE

Presenter room The presenter room is open Tuesday and Wednesday, 08-10 May from 08:00-17:00 in room 1.51 and 1.52. Please note that you must ensure your presentation is dropped off in the presenter room no less than 24 hours before the day of your session, otherwise we will not have it set up and ready for your presentation. We are also excited to pilot AI translation in 29 different languages in select rooms at CTICC 2. To use, you will scan a QR code at the room entrance with your phone, select your preferred language from 29 language options, and then use your own headset to listen to translated audio.
