Job Description for Co-Directors
The Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN) is hiring two Co-Directors of Nursing Education for the Community of Neonatal Nursing Practice (CoNP). This position is until September 2024, the duration of the CoNP funding. These indviduals will be responsible for curriculum design, oversight of training, and training faculty/staff to support all aspects of neonatal nursing education.
In that capacity, one Co-Director must have a minimum of a Master’s degree and will be responsible for providing leadership for the educational content and developing a vision and goals for the educational components including program evaluation related to the BSc education and higher. The second co-director must have at minimum of a Bachelor degree and will be responsible for providing leadership for the educational content and developing a vision and goals for the educational components including program evaluation related to post-diploma education. Both co-directors will be responsible for collaborating with faculty and project teams in regards to the curriculum, faculty goals and faculty development. The Co-Directors will also be responsible for representing the education and project to external constituents and serving as a spokesperson for the COINN CoNP regarding neonatal nursing education.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Co-Director
1. Developing an educational project plan
2. Setting annual goals and objectives for the educational components of CoNP’s work
3. Fostering an environment that supports collaborative work
4. Collaborating with the webmaster to ensure content is accurate before posting as resources
5. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with professional associations, educational institutions, and clinical affiliate agencies
6. Reporting to the Global Technical Advisory Committee of the CoNP.
Qualifications and Requirements
Co-director position 1 will need a minimum of a Master degree in Nursing or Midwifery
Co-director position 2 will need a minimum of a Bachelor degree in Nursing or Midwifery
Must be based in Africa
At least two years experience in providing education-
Successful record of leadership experience relevant to neonatal nursing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated excellence in neonatal nursing teaching
Ability to attract and retain innovative and creative faculty/preceptors/mentors
Ability to serve as an advocate for neonatal nursing education globally
Commitment to building and enhancing collaborations globally
Experience in developing and building new programs
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity
