COINN Update Carole Kenner, CEO - September 2023








COINN officially launched the Community of Neonatal Nursing Practice (CoNP) on August 15, 2023 on International Neonatal Nurses Day. One hundred participants from 41 countries

attended the webinar. Speakers included: Professors Karen Walker, Carole Kenner, and Dr. Sue Prullage from COINN; Dr. Hema Magge, Senior Program Officer, Newborn Health-Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Dr. David Gathara, Health Systems Researcher London School of Health & Tropical Medicine, and the KEMRI Wellcome Trust; Edith Gicheha, Clinical Training Director, NEST 360; Dr. Michelle Acorn, Chief Nursing Officer, International Council of Nurses; and Helga Fogstad, Executive Director of PMNCH (WHO Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health). COINN was honored to be invited to participate in the Joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS) meeting in Rome in September. Professor Karen Walker, COINN President gave a presentation on the WHO Kangaroo Mother Care STAGE Program. JENS provided an opportunity for networking meetings with key stakeholders in global health.


COINN Denmark 2024

The 11th COINN International Neonatal Nursing Conference (COINN 2024)” Supporting Closeness Building Relations” in collaboration with colleagues from the Danish neonatal nurses and local hosts from Aalborg University Hospital will be held in Aalborg, Denmark 6-8 May, 2024.
