Welcome to the 
CoNP courses.

Welcome to the education page for the Council of International Neonatal Nurses, Inc. (COINN) Community of Neonatal Nursing Practice (CoNP). On this page you will find several online neonatal courses. Each course has been developed by a team of neonatal nurse professionals in collaboration with COINN. The courses are all standardized based on the COINN Competency Framework and the COINN Competency Skills Checklist used to measure clinical performance. Each course includes embryology, genetics, neonatal pharmacology, infant and family centered developmental care, identification, and management of neonatal conditions, quality improvement information, research-evidence-based practice, and leadership. A certificate of completion will be provided after successful completion of each course which can then be taken to country Ministry of Health (MoH) and Nursing Councils for acknowledgement or endorsement.

Why take a CoNP course?

If you want to enhance your skills/knowledge of how to provide care to the sick and sick newborns and their families, take one of these courses.  They are designed to offer evidence-based content and best practices in neonatal nursing education and practice.

Neonatal Orientation
Externship

This course is created for new and current nurses/midwives working in neonatal units.

Advanced Neonatal Continuing Education

This 6-month course is created for faculty at a university that are involved in teaching neonatal content.

Neonatal Preceptor Training

This course is for any nurse/midwife or faculty member who will preceptor new staff or students in the neonatal unit.
